Directions
In a large bowl toss together the apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch slices, the brown sugar, the nutmeg, the cinnamon, and the salt, transfer the mixture to a buttered baking dish 13x7x2, dot with butter, and bake it in the middle of a preheated 350° F. oven for 20 minutes, or until the apples are softened. Make the topping: Into a bowl sift together the four, the baking powder, the salt, and the sugar. In another bowl whisk together the egg, the milk, and the butter and stir the mixture into the four mixture, stirring until the topping is just combined. Spread the topping evenly over the apple mixture and bake the slump in the middle of the 350° F. oven for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden and cooked through. Serve the slump warm with the whipped cream. Serves 6. dess 10
