1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, room temperature 2 cups powdered sugar 2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease 8-inch square baking dish. Melt 1/2 cup butter with chocolate in heavy medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and mix in brown sugar, flour, pecans eggs, vanilla and salt. Transfer to prepared dish. Bake until brownies are firm to the touch, about 15 minutes. Cool. Meanwhile, cream 1/4 cup butter with powdered sugar. Stir in coffee and vanilla. Spread over cooled brownies. Cut into squares or bars. (Brownies can be prepared 1 day ahead. Store in airtight container) Makes about 16 cook 041
