Whisk all dry ingredients

Cut in butter with pastry blender

Add buttermilk to dry ingredients. Stir just to combine. It will be shaggy.

Drop dollops into the pot spacing apart. Cover and reduce heat to low. Cook until dumplings are puffed and cooked through, 18 to 22 minutes.
