Maple Candy Coated Nuts

Directions

Lightly oil two cookies sheets and set aside. Stir together the maple syrup, spices, salt and butter in a small saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until mixture reaches a firm ball stage, or registers 242 degrees on a candy thermometer. Add vanilla and nuts and toss quickly until the nuts are evenly coated with the glaze. Drop mixture by large spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and allow to harden for about an hour. Remove the candy with a spatula. Wrap in individual packages and refrigerate.
