Directions
Saute onion in oil. Add jalapeno, then garlic near end.
Add tomato sauce and all wet ingredients to the sauce pan. Increase to high heat and bring to boil. Reduce to a simmer. Add dry ingredients and continue simmering for 40 minutes until sauce has thickened and has reduced by one-third or as thick as desired.
*** Note: If tomato sauce is already fairly thick and reduced, add a cup of water.
