Do ahead: 2 cup apple juice, lemon juice, orange peel, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, ginger. Simmer/steep for an hour. Store in Mason jar. Refrigerate or freeze.
In a large pot combine everything but orange and lemon slices. Simmer for 30 minutes. The cider is even better if allowed to stand overnight with cinnamon sticks and cloves in refrigerator, then reheated. Place half-moon shaped orange or lemon slice in each cup, fill with hot cider and serve.
Another recipe: 2 qt. cranberry juice 1 can pineapple juice (46 oz.) 1 can frozen concentrate (6 oz.) thawed undiluted 2 c. apple juice 1 c. orange juice 4 sticks cinnamon (3) 4 whole nutmegs 1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
